Open a page
- Open the Code workspace.
- Choose Add a panel → Browser.
- Enter the page address in the browser toolbar and navigate.
- Use additional Browser panels or tabs when you need more than one page.
- Read site-permission, external-application, certificate, or download prompts before responding.
For a local preview, start the actual app in a Terminal and use the URL it reports. A browser tab does not start the server for you. A refused connection often means the process stopped or the port differs.
Understand the workspace profile
Browser sign-ins, site storage, permissions, and restore history belong to the workspace browser profile. They are separate from your coding provider’s CLI login. Signing in to a website manually does not automatically make it an available agent tool.
Settings → Browser provides the default search provider, workspace profile information, and site-permission controls. Resetting an individual origin’s permissions differs from resetting the entire profile.
Reset only when needed
Reset browser data closes page tabs and clears this workspace’s sign-ins, site storage, cache, permissions, and restore history. The dialog requires typing the workspace name. Review that scope before confirming; use less disruptive reload or permission checks first.
Manual browsing is different from agent browser tools, which are off by default and limited to local previews. Download and native permission behavior require platform walkthrough verification; inspect the actual prompt rather than assuming browser parity with another app.
