Follow reported child work
- Open a Code session whose harness reports subagent activity.
- Choose Add a panel → Subagents.
- Select the reported child work to inspect its status and available details.
- Compare the child result with the parent session’s activity and final response.
A child can still be running, waiting, or have failed when the parent transcript contains a progress update. Treat completion as a reported state to verify against the result, not a promise made by a descriptive label.
Understand availability
An empty panel can mean no child work has been reported for this task. It is not proof that a provider account is broken. Availability and detail depend on the selected harness, its version, and the events it exposes.
The panel does not establish arbitrary cross-provider delegation. A parent’s ability to use subagents does not mean a Claude child can be silently replaced with Codex, or that every model can launch every other harness. Existing-session provider continuation has its own narrower rules.
Review before acting
Use the parent task and workspace to verify proposed edits or commands from a child result. Do not infer that viewing child output grants approval for further work. If expected child events never appear, include the harness, CLI version, task state, and sanitized error in Diagnostics.
